Blogger versus Wordpress

versus

A friend suggested using Wordpress as a good platform to host a static website on.

Both Blogger and Wordpress use a feature called pages. This is where you can do simple HTML code to be displayed as a static Web pages, make one of  these the default page for the sites, and suddenly you have a website and not a Blog.

By using templates and other layout options offered you can make this site look very smart. Take note that some of these settings are part of paid services with Wordpress, and free with Blogger. Another major difference is that you can do custom domains with Blogger for free, and not with Wordpress.

Blogger does have a limited of 20 pages, but Blog posts could easily make up the remainder of the pages you might need.

Now, why do all of this?

Building a business from the ground up everyone needs to look at costs, and keep them to the minimum. Blogger offers a very good free platform and by working clever, no one should notice you are running on a free platform.

This website is now running as a Blogger site, with custom pages and custom URL.
