Bafang Electric Bike Battery Charger Conversion
The Bafang Electric Bike charger and battery has a STUPID connection for charging. One so STUPID that the instructions that come with the battery actually mentions it and says clearly it is not covered by the warranty.

Why someone thought this would be a great idea, I do not know. And having gone through 4 chargers where this STUPID sense pin broke off, I had enought.

Okay, the issues is that the barrel connector on the charger has this STUPID pin in the middle which is used for sensing the battery and then allow charging. When this STUPID pin has broken off, it will not charge anymore.
Taking everything appart will reveal 5 wires on the charger side, and only 4 on the battery side. There was a yellow wire in the charger side which I could not figure out. The battery also has STUPID screws and you will need a longer driver to get it into the wholes.
Assuming the battery side is the important side, I ordered male and femal pair 4 pin connectors from Aliexpress.

These fit into the battery whole after drilling it our to 16mm. Nothing mayor, just a couple of mm.
I then made sure that the red (+) and black (+) wires lined up through the connectors, and took a guess on the other 2 wires. And it worked!
Yes, I was probably lucky and I cannot be held responsible for your failures. All I am trying to say is give it a go! These charges are €50 a shot for that STUPID little pin, so for me it was worth just giving it a go.
I replaced the STUPID screws with some GAMA M3x16mm RVS A2 screws.
The charger is for 43V batteries with article number CHG C01.2A.EN.
